FAQ - Kitchen - General Topics

Q: How can I determine the flow rate of the pump I have?

A: Flow rate is dependent on factors such as product viscosity, distance pulled, distance pushed, and head pressure. The actual flow rate can easily be determined by dispensing product into a beaker or measuring cup and timing the feed. Knight pumps are generally rated by the number of ounces per minute.

Q: What is the maximum pressure that a peristaltic pump can push against?

A: 30 PSI max. Push capability decreases if squeeze tube is worn.

Q: How can I get into a dispenser without knowing the access code?

A: First check with the previous user, or with the original owner if the equipment has changed hands. If its not possible to get the access code using this approach, call Knight for assistance (be sure to have the serial number of the unit available for verification).

Q: Which squeeze tube goes with each pump?

A: This correlates to the head size, or "series", that the pump belongs to. The following specs are only the most common tube sizes used. Other sizes may be available for special configurations.

  • 500 Series uses T-51, T-53, T-50, T-66
  • 800 Series uses T-50, T-66
  • 900 Series uses T-86

Q: What color roller goes with which squeeze tube?

A: Again, this is based on head size, or "series" and the following specs are shown in reference to the question about squeeze tubes.

  • 500 Series: T-51 (brown), T-53 (blue), T-50 (yellow), T-66 (yellow)
  • 800 Series: T-50 (yellow), T-66 (yellow)
  • 900 Series: T-86 (white)
