Q: What if I don’t have a com port on my PC for the WinReporter cable?

A: Check with your PC vendor for options – you may be able to add a com port, or free up an existing (unused) port. Some new PC’s have USB ports instead of com ports. Your PC vendor will likely have an adapter kit to make the USB port work like a com port.

Q: Do I need to have a RM-6000 module or KCI-6000 module connected to my PC to run WinReporter?

A: The module is not necessary for "remote" functions, such as printing reports from saved files, or programming setup (HEX) files. However, a module is required for logging on to a dispenser network, or if you are going to retrieve files that are saved on the module itself (RM-6000 only).
